What's inside
Tri-magnesium dicitrate, that is, magnesium bound to citric acid. This form dissolves well in water and is readily absorbed by the body. The ingredient list also includes only the capsule shell and an anti-caking agent. Each daily dose of 4 capsules provides 300 mg of pure magnesium, which is 80 mg of the reference intake. When comparing ingredients, always look at the line "of which magnesium," not the quantity of the compound. Citrate is one of several forms: bisglycinate, malate, threonate, orotate, and oxide also exist, and each has its purpose. The specific properties of each form are explained in the product information sheet. Not all magnesium is created equal →

How it is taken
It's best to divide the daily dose into two portions, for example, 2 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules in the evening, each taken with a meal and a glass of water. Those wishing to follow the recommendation of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) should stick to 3 capsules per day, which is below 250 mg. Reduce the amount if you experience loose stools; this is a typical sign of too much magnesium at once.

Good to know
- The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment recommends a maximum daily intake of 250 mg of magnesium from dietary supplements, divided into two portions. Taking 3 capsules instead of 4 will keep you below this amount (225 mg).
- Larger quantities at once can soften the stool.
- Maintain a 2 to 3 hour interval between taking certain antibiotics (tetracyclines, quinolones), osteoporosis medications (bisphosphonates), and thyroid hormones.
- Use only after consulting a doctor if kidney function is impaired.
As always, dietary supplements are a supplement, not a substitute for good food and not a substitute for medical advice. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have children, pre-existing medical conditions, or are taking long-term medication, it is advisable to consult your doctor beforehand.
